Week 5 Blog Activities

  • Anyone with a computer can create a website. Is this always a good thing?
There are many software programs that have made it easy for anyone to create a website, but unfortunately not all websites are created with the best interests of others in mind. Some are created for the sole purpose to spew hatred, venom and other negative views.

  • What are some of the advantages to creating your own website rather than hiring a prof.? What are some of the drawbacks?
One of the main reasons for creating your own website rather than hire a prof. is that it can be rather expensive, but if you are willing to put in a little time and creativity you can create a very well designed site for free with the help of many website builder programs that are available.

  • Usability vs. Accessibility
Usability is how you design your site and how you want users to be able to use your site. How you design your site will make or break how many people visit your site. How well  your site organized and easy to navigate is key to accessibility. Even if your site is designed well if everyone is not able to access it whether they are visually impaired, or disabled in any way your sites accessibility will limit your services, products you offer to the public.
